The problem with a length of coax is the shield, even only connected at the TV jack, is going to reduce the effectiveness of the test antenna. Something that doesn't have a shield needs to be connected to the center port of the F connector (where the coax connects to the TV) to have any effectiveness as an antenna. Speaking as a ham radio operator for more than 40 years. 😄
Completely agree about TV antennas that make claims to be "digital". There's nothing in any antenna that makes it work any better for digital TV. It's pure marketing BS that is meaningless. 😞
