On the Library screen I scroll down so that I can highlight a recorded show and all of the icons go totally distorted. I then scroll back up to the Library screen and back down again and they distort again. The only way I am able to rectify this is to exit out and log back in. Then there is no video distortion for the programs I have recorded. But this is time consuming. Could it be the memory inside of the Roku device (Roku Premier) is going bad? My device is about 4 years old. Time to buy a new one, would that fix it? And if I buy a new device (another Premier), will I have to reload all of my Streaming services which requires logging back in to each one?
What app are you using when this occurs?
If you do buy a new Roku, there's no guarantee that it would fix the problem if it's a problem with the app, but it is odd that getting out and back in fixes it. That does make me think it's a Roku issue/bug. Still, there's no guarantee that a new device would fix it. If you link a device to the same Roku account as your old device you may have to log into your apps again, but they should all be automatically installed. Some apps support SSO (single sign on), but I couldn't say which ones.
You might want to post a picture of the issue just in case someone at Roku wants to take a look into it.
Thanks for responding so quickly.
If you're thinking of trying a new device, you might want to check your offers at https://my.roku.com/offers. There isn't a current "Premiere" device, but I saw a bunch of 3920s at Walmart on BF, so I guess they're still being sold. The current "Express 4k+" (3941) would probably be a better choice and it's $40. I always go to Roku's site to find the current models. I assume they would be the best place to find that information. 🙂
