Let's explore two possibilities:
App Permissions: The app might require specific permissions to capture pictures and videos manually through the app itself. Check if the Roku Smart Home app has storage and camera access enabled in your phone's settings. bazoocam
Misinterpretation: It's possible there was a misunderstanding about the functionality. The Roku doorbell captures footage automatically, and you can access those recordings through the app. Manually triggering recordings might not be an available option. camzap
I manually press the camera button to take a still picture and it says go to settings. All settings are allowed. This function works perfectly well on all my other cameras. Why would it be a settings or a function thats not available if it works on 4 other cameras? Was this the last post, your final recommendation?
Same problem with mine ever since I got it a few months ago.
Also I have no 'detection sensitivity' slider in the app but other people do. I'm on pixel 7a android 14. The battery has only been lasting about half a month also. This camera is a mess.
Still not working months later. Can any android user take still photos or rec videos manually?
Every other camera I have takes still manual pictures and records manual videos. Roku app has every permission I can give it. Why would it have the buttons to take still pictures and record manual video like the other cameras that I have and not the doorbell? I want to get another doorbell for my other door but would rather wait until all the features I pay for works. Also I have the paid camera subscription.
Can we get an update on this?
