Outdoor camera/app not working

I have two wireless cameras, one on the front of my house and one on the back.  Both of them behave as follows: 

When app first connects, it's a low resolution image and the video works, with clock advancing, for a second or two. Then it freezes for a few seconds.  Then it switches to a high resolution image, the video works with clock advancing for a second or two, then it freezes.  After that it might go live intermittently for a second or two, then freeze again.

The software says that the firmware is up to date.

Exceedingly frustrating.

Thank you for posting here in the Roku Community!

We understand you are having a problem with the Roku smart home app. We're happy to assist you further. We suggest deleting the Smart Home app and reinstalling it again. After doing so, try to log in again and play any recorded events to see if this will make any difference. Also, did you make any changes with your network connection or is it connected to the same network as before?
