Floodlight camera not working correctly

Jump to solution

I installed my flood light camera and the flood lights work but the camera doesn’t seem to turn on. It’s installed correctly as the motion detection works and turns the flood lights on but the camera won’t talk or turn on when I push the setup button to pair it to my account.

Hi @Ebunce40,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

We are more than willing to help you with your concern about the camera on your Floodlight that does not turn on.

To begin, please follow the details below:

  • Check if the Roku Smart home app is up to date.
  • Check all wiring to make sure it is secure, including the wire connecting the Roku Camera to the Floodlight.
  • Power cycle:
  1. Flip the breaker to the OFF position. Wait 5-10 seconds, and then turn the breaker back to the ON position.
  2. This will power cycle both the Floodlight and the Roku Camera.
  • Factory reset the Roku Camera:
  1. If there is a microSD card inserted, remove it.
  2. With the Roku Camera plugged into power, press and hold the setup button on the bottom of the camera for 10 seconds. This will reset the camera.
  3. Wait at least 30 seconds for the unit to initialize.
  4. This process can take up to 5 minutes. It's rare, but it's possible.
  5. The LED status light on the device will change from Solid Red to Flashing Red.
  6. The device is now ready to be set up again.
