Wifi6 Connectivity on a Walmart Ultra
I have an Asus GT-BE98 Pro router, and though I don't have any issues connecting to 5G, the Wifi6 channel doesn't even appear as an option. I set one of my two Wifi7 channels to 6, with WPA3, and also tried connecting as a private network, to see if it made a difference.
Is the Walmart variant of the Ultra missing the WiFi6 option? I'm not desperate for it, but since it's supposed to have the option I thought I'd take advantage of it.
Previous versions of the Walmart Ultra differed from the OEM version, which accounts for the massive difference in price.
Edit: I have the Ultra 2024, bought yesterday.
Thanks
Hi heymikebrown,
Thanks for the inquiry, and welcome to the Roku Community!
Please be aware that the new Roku Ultra supports Wi-Fi 6, which has been upgraded to 2.4 and 5 GHz. Wi-Fi 6 isn't capable of 6GHz. The term "Wi-Fi 6e" actually refers to 6 GHz support; the "e" indicates that it is 6 GHz.
We hope you'll find this information useful. Please keep us posted if there's anything else we can do to assist you.
Best regards,
John
