Hey everyone,
If you’re here trying to set up a Roku remote that doesn’t have a pairing button. Here’s a quick guide to get you up and running:
First, check your remote:
Look for a pairing button inside the battery compartment. No button? Cool — just follow the steps below.Pair using the Roku Menu:
- Press the Home button on your working remote or use the Roku mobile app.
- Go to Settings > Remotes & devices > Add devices.
- Select Remote, then hit Continue.
- Follow the steps on the screen to pair your voice remote.
Restart your Roku device (if needed):
- Unplug your Roku from power.
- Wait 5 seconds.
- Plug it back in.
- When the Home screen shows up, go ahead and follow the steps above to pair your remote.
Put your remote in pairing mode:
- No pairing button? Press and hold the Back and Home buttons together for 5 seconds — watch for the status light to start flashing.
- Got a pairing button? Just press and hold that for 5 seconds instead.
If none of that does the trick, check out our full support article on Roku remote issues or search the Community for similar posts.
