You can limit the Roku devices to the desired resolution output under Settings/Display Type/[720p]
Just make sure to manually set it to 720p and not use "Automatic".
If you are trying to conserve data, make sure to enable bandwidth saver under Settings/Network/Bandwidth Saver as well and always make sure you press the "Home" button on your Roku remote to return to Home Screen that stops any streaming activity.
