Wow - I'm impressed by the quick response.
This is an LG 65LF5700-UA and currently has software version 15.0.4 Build 5534. I have tried to disable all additional menus, set wallpaper to most basic options, etc but it is still frustratingly slow.
I gave up on using it for streaming years ago and added a separate plug-in Roku for streaming channels, but I still have to use the built in Roku TV to access the OTA channels. The OS updates have made that nearly intolerable.
Granted the TV is 8-9 years old, but software updates should not be what makes a TV completely unusable when it is otherwise in perfectly good working order.
I have a few other Roku TVs that are newer but notice they are progressively slowing so fear the same fate for them... Roku pushing software updates that force an upgrade and more unnecessary electronic waste.
My policy is to only use so-called "smart" TVs in "dumb" mode not connected to the Internet. Then connect your streaming device of choice. I would gladly pay double for a good old-fashioned "dumb" TV.

Good policy, but the reason I like Roku TVs is having a single remote to access OTA and streaming. Needing 2 Roku remotes, 1 to operate the TV and another to operate the channels makes for a very frustrated spouse!
