In fact, I have the exact same problem with my Roku TV: even on the "Brighter" setting, the screen remains far too dim, even though the sound and menus function well. I'm glad I'm not by myself! Has there ever been a solution or workaround for this?

RokuJohnB My Roku TV is a TCL. The dim screen issue happens across all apps, not just specific ones. For troubleshooting, I’ve already tried adjusting the picture settings (set to “Brighter”), restarted the TV, and even checked different HDMI inputs, but the screen still looks dim.

That sounds like either a backlight issue or motherboard issue with the TV. I suggest contacting TCL for technical/warranty support. Hopefully, your TV still is under warranty. TCL Support
