Roku tv issue and won’t turn on with my remote

Has anyone had an issue where your tv won’t get your remote control? My remote control won’t turn my tv on and it’s not the control it’s the tv that won’t catch it, the tv is brand new and I don’t kn...

How do you know it's the TV and not the remote?

As far as I know most (maybe all?) Roku TVs come with infrared (IR) remotes (which have no voice control capabilities).  You should be able to detect if the remote does actually emit IR by pointing it at a digital camera, perhaps one in a cell phone, and observing on the view screen when you press buttons on the remote,
