Hi, I'm having the exact same issue. New batteries, inserted the right way, the problem isn't the batteries. The light isn't turning on. It's exactly this same issue, but my model is RC83. I need the remote working ASAP
Personally, anytime I’ve had issues with my remote it’s because the battery coils have corroded a little bit. It acts exactly how this is describing. The corrosion isn’t usually a lot but makes it so the batteries can’t connect. To fix that you take a q-tip dipped in white vinegar and rub the coils as best as you can. This might not be the issue, but it’s an easy fix if it is and it doesn’t hurt to clean your remote anyways.
I am also having the same problem and I'm not sure what to do about it, i've gotten many new batteries and none work and the light just won't turn on in the back. This means I can't connect my roku app to my roku device because i'm not able to use my roku device to get it connected.
