Roku 3 is stuck on logo screen
Out of nowhere, my Roku 3 is stuck on the Roku screen. Have tried all the fixes I can find e.g. unplugging Roku, unplugging router and Roku, switching hdmi, resetting and all result in the same scree...

I believe you posted this in a separate thread. Your Roku 4200 is now over 12 years old, and has likely decided it was time to shut down. The 4200 was a terrific player when new, but it has been passed by by more than a dozen models since then. It's time to accept you have gotten your money's worth from it and get a replacement.
Understood, but let's try to understand what happened first and see if it can be fixed before we just throw things out and create waste. I think is is very curious that I have read at least ~5 owners who have reported their Roku 3 having experiencing this issue with a feq days of each other. Also, I will point out that the Roku 3 is still a supported device.
Yes, it's still "supported", although I really don't understand why. Roku usually drops a device into legacy status (no longer supported) between 8-10 years. I wouldn't be surprised for the 4200 to be dropped before the year ends, and perhaps a few more. Those older devices simply don't have the processing power and memory (both operating system memory and app storage) necessary for some of the newest apps and services. My personal opinion is its days are numbered.
I absolutely support checking it out as much as possible. Just trying to not get your hopes up for a solution.
I think many people are using a Roku 3 that works perfectly fine for us. A 1080p TV is pretty good in most situations. I actually admire that Roku has not tried to create planned obsolesce for the Roku 3. If they did, I think they might lose market share. In that sense I hope that if a company like Roku sells a product, they would not shut it down by releasing a buggy update.
Roku does pretty well for supporting devices that are getting older. There really was just one they dropped support for a bit early, which was the Roku 4 (4400). That one makes sense in that it used hardware that was never used before or since, and it was the only 4K player that didn't support HDR. The Roku 3 (both versions) was a fantastic player for quite a while, but it really is reaching the point of being obsolete (not planned, just that's the way consumer electronics age). I expect some app providers will be dropping support for that old of a device pretty soon.
