Remote stopped working

My Roku remote stopped working. The remote has the voice activated feature.  The ID. numbers on the remote are ABS. RF3423-T3-03-1-7.  The volume and mute buttons are the only functions that work. I have tried taking the batteries out and swapping them left to right; no success. I then tried unplugging my Roku stick from the television and leaving it unplugged for about a hour; no success. I have tried fresh batteries; no success. I tried the reset button behind the battery compartment door.  What would be my next step before replacing the remote.

    We understand that your remote stopped working. Thanks for sharing the steps you've tried. Please give these steps a try.

    1. Reset your Roku remote (by pressing the pairing button inside the battery compartment for 20 seconds)
    2. Reboot your Roku device (by removing the power cable from the Roku device, waiting for 5 seconds, and plugging it back in)
    3. Re-pair your Roku Remote to the Roku device (Press and hold the pairing button for 5 seconds or until you see the status light begin to flash)

    slianna123, I'm a user also and there is another string on this issue under user inam555.  my reply to that string was, (which I haven't gotten a answer yet) 

    I've been having the same problem with my voice remote. Power & Home buttons work, so do volumn and mute buttons. But back arrow, up, down, side to side work intermittently. I went the whole route by rebooting roku, changing batteries and re-pairing remote to TV .  Started to work fine then back to the problem.  Today just a few hours ago, I chatted with a rep and she walked me through a little different way to pair it by holding down the right button in the battery chamber for 20 seconds, blinking light then the other button to pair. It worked for a few hours then back to the same problem.  I said to myself, enough of this I'm not doing this all over again, only to go back to having to doing it over & over. 

    So I just bought a new voice remote. I hope that this works
