Remote finder sound changing on its own

I prefer to have my remote finder sound set as "sonar."

But it always changes automatically back to a referee whistle.

Not only is the referee whistle just simply annoying, but it's hard for me to pin point the remote and where it is exactly. The sonar sound makes it much easier to find.

Yet no matter how much I change it back to sonar, it reverts back to the referee whistle sound all on it's own.

It's very annoying that Roku refuses to allow me to keep my own settings on my app. What can be done to stop this sound from changing on its own?

We're grateful to have you here in the Roku Community, Stoneking!

Firstly, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Rest assured that we will find you the best resolution so you can use your preferred sound when using the remote finder feature.

In this case, we will coordinate this with the appropriate Roku team to further investigate the Roku player your remote was connected to. With this being said, kindly provide us with the following details below:

    • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and OS version. (this can all be found in Settings > System > About)
    • Tracker ID (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID)
    • Is this the remote that comes with your Roku player?

    We'll be anticipating your update!

    Best regards,
    Carly

Thank you for the added information, Stoneking.

Rest assured that I've already created a report and forwarded it to the respective Roku team for further investigation. Just to clarify, did this happen before your current software version (OS 13.0)?

I'll be looking forward to your confirmation so I can update the team.

        Thanks,
        Carly
