Received update 13.0 on my Roku TV

I have a TCL 43S455 Roku TV that we bought last year. We bought it based on the good reviews. And it’s been working and looking great until today, when the TV was updated to version 13.0.

No settings were changed or messed with. Today, just all of the sudden it turned dimmer when launching Forza Horizons 5 on Xbox. But now even after exiting the Xbox mode, the brightness and vibrant colors do not return.

I went to settings on the TV to see if there had been a software update, and there had been. That tells me that the update messed things up. Went into setting to see if anything had been changed with the update, but no changes had been made. I then tried to change to setting to try and fix the problem. But I can’t get it back to the same brightness and vibrance as before 13.0.

Please fix this. It is unacceptable. Updates are supposed to enhance a device’s capabilities, not make them worse. And please don’t try to get me to go through settings to adjust things. I’ve tried that. It doesn’t help.

Is it possible to get a file sent to me that would downgrade the software? This would be fine with me because up until version 13, this TV looked great.

A warm welcome here in the Roku Community, Silvergish!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I'd be happy to coordinate this with the appropriate team for further investigation.

Kindly provide me with the following details so I can report this effectively:

    • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and OS version. (this can all be found in Settings > System > About)
    • Tracker ID (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID)
    • An indication of the display you are referring to. Perhaps a photo of it would do.
    • Are certain channels affected by this? If so, kindly specify.

I'll be looking forward to your response.

    Best regards,
    Carly
