Wifi connectivity screen won't load.

Hello,

I have had my Onn. Roku TV 65" for a little over a year now. It was purchased in January of 2024. I thought I had warranty but apparently do not... so I am resorting here to see if anyone else has had the same problem.

When moving our tv to a new location we unplugged it and had to reset up when we plugged back in. We did this with both Tv's the 35" is fine and the 65" is not working. When going through the set up to connect to wifi it will not load the screen. It will pop up "looking for a connection" white pop up box for less then 2 seconds. Not even long enough to read what the pop up says. It will only stay on the screen asking for wifi or private network and will not go any further.

I have tried manually entering the wifi. I have reset the TV, reset the router, gotten a NEW router placed thinking the wifi was the problem, I have turned it off, left it unplugged. I checked for a software update and it is not needed. I downloaded the software update on the website for my tv on a USB and it is older then the software on my tv.

I have quite literally exhausted all other options and it feels as this is just a malfunction or a glitch in the TV its self.

I am willing to try anything, please help! I have a video as well but it will not allow me to upload.

Looks like you're unable to establish a connection to your Roku TV, and the issue persists right after doing all the steps.

For further help on this, you may need to reach out directly to your TV manufacturer for more advanced troubleshooting steps.

Since the Onn RokuTV appears to be out of warranty and it sounds like the wifi module may be having an issue, you have a couple of options.  You could try replacing the wifi module. (just search for the the wifi module on ebay with the model number of the TV.)  Pretty simple fix, just a couple of screws hold it in place inside the TV.  Generally $10 to $40 fix.

(the wifi module looks like this example ).

Otherwise, you could purchase a Roku device and plug it into the HDMI port of the Onn RokuTV.  Then the Roku device will now replace the Roku OS of the RokuTV.   If you go this route, just Factory Reset the RokuTV again and do not not set up the internet/network connection.  Use the RokuTV remote when you want to watch antenna TV (and access the RokuTV settings) and use the new Roku device remote when you want to stream with Roku. (plenty of users use this method to upgrade older RokuTVs).

Caveat of the above if that the RokuOS is getting more ingrained into their Antenna functions so the EPG guide (program guide for the locals) may or may not run into issues as the TV continues to age.  Would hope it would just use the digital signal in order for the guide to operate as most TVs do.
