Onn tv with lines 65 inch screen tv

Brand new tv has fading lines. Unplug it for a few mins and let the power off. Still has lines. The power cord is built in the back of the tv. I feel like I just wasted my money!. Bought the tv to replace a Vizio and I should hv just repaired the Vizio cause now i have the same issue with a brand new onn tv.

    Since this is a brand new TV, it should be returned.

    Most of these lines and image issues are a result of a loose/dirty ribbon cable from the T-con board (timing controller) that terminate near the top of the bezel.  Usually you can just unplug them (2 or 3 depending on model) and reseat them. (then place tape over them and in additional locations along the path to prevent movement and dust accumulation).

    It is an easy fix, but requires you to disassemble the back cover and should not have to be performed on a new TV. (that is what a warranty is for).

    On some TV's, there may even be an access door near these locations since they need to be serviced/tended to occasionally.

    Just wanted to add that if you really meant that you have exactly the same symptom with a new and old TV, then possibly something else is going on? Like the source material/device, or something weird with the power or room lighting?

    But if you feel you've eliminated those, a brand-new TV should definitely go back.
