Not able to move apps in Home

Roku Ultra, wired network connection.

When I try to move an app in the home page, I get a message that says the internet is not connected, which is not true. I can watch channels just fine, and the "check connections" reports no issues.

I am only able to remove and add apps (not move) from mobile app.

    Sounds pretty strange, all right.

If I had that problem the first thing I'd do would be restart the Roku.

These things are just special purpose computers. Like their big brothers sometimes clearing things out by restarting them can correct problems.

Depending on your Roku model you'll find the "System restart" under "Settings > System > Power", or if you have no Power option, under "Settings > System".

If a restart doesn't do it, or if you don't have sufficient control with the remote to navigate the Roku menus, you can also restart by pulling the power plug to the Roku for a minute or so then plugging it back in.

I have tried restart / unplug many times as well as network reset. Once in a while the "*" key press acts like its trying to communicate then seems to time out with no network connection.

        Hi, aennen

Thanks for posting here in the Roku Community.

We acknowledge the concern you've encountered. From there, we recommend trying to connect to a wireless connection and try to move an app once again by pressing the star "*" button on your Roku remote and placing it in your desired position.

If the issue persists, please let us know and we'll continue to assist you.

        Best wishes,
        Kash

  • Started to have this problem on my Ultras in Guest Mode only. Works fine when not in Guest Mode. System is up to date. Network connection, wired, is good. Can stream content. The * options button works with some apps but not others. I power-cycled the Roku Ultra, switch, router, modem. Can add apps but cannot move or remove some. Weird. Did Roku not inform all about an update and so some apps just don't respond correctly to the * options button? Will this be resolved eventually? Annoying.
