Links to a show on TV

So my mother-in-law is 78 years old. We got her Internet and YouTube TV as it was cheaper than cable. She knows how to use that pretty well but is afraid to use any other streaming services. So I had a thought. Is there anyway for me to be able to send her a link to a Netflix show or Hulu or which ever one. That way she could click on the link and it would take her straight to it

While we don't have the feature you're looking for at the moment, we'll make sure to pass along your suggestions to the appropriate team for consideration.

Perhaps this could be considered as a helpful suggestion. If you have a Roku Voice remote, you can use it to search directly for what you're looking for using the push-to-talk button. Alternatively, you can use the Roku mobile app remote to search for channels easily.

It may also be helpful to move the app to the upper part of your list or mark it as a favorite for easier access.

  • That’s such a thoughtful idea! It can definitely be tricky for older folks to navigate multiple streaming apps, so sending her a direct link sounds like a great solution. I actually came across some helpful tips on setting up user-friendly streaming at thereviewsit.com , especially for people who aren’t too tech-savvy. Maybe creating a shortcut on her device or TV home screen could help too. She’s lucky to have someone like you looking out for her!
