How to Stream on Roku App

Why is it so difficult to watch a show directly from the app on my iPhone? I managed to do it once in the many times I have tried. So I know it can be done. Why is it not an option most of the time?

    Please be advised that you cannot watch or stream channels or movies on the Roku mobile app. However, the Roku mobile app is a free application for iOS and Android devices that turns your mobile device into a control center for your Roku streaming device. You can also use the Roku mobile app to manage the apps on your Roku streaming device: Access the Store to add and remove apps.

    It is possible to watch on your mobile, but they make you jump through a few hoops to do so.

    1. After opening the Roku app, search for the show you want to watch.
    2. it will try to get you to watch on your Roku device, but there is an option a little lower down to watch some other ways +mobile. Click on that, scroll all the way down where you should get the option to watch on mobile.

      I used to be able to watch Roku on my iPhone. Are you saying this is no longer possible? When and why did they change this?

        Depending on the app, you may be able to download the channel/broadcaster/provider to your phone and watch that way, such as Netflix, Espn, Spectrum TV, and others.  Not all apps have those features though.

    Remember, the ONLY channel you can watch on the Roku app on your phone is The Roku Channel. You don't have access to any other app installed on the Roku through the app on your phone.
