Since this is a new thread, we don't know what "this" is. Are you saying you can't get the remote paired after a factory reset? What model Roku do you have? Is your remote a Voice remote or an IR remote? An IR remote will not have a mic button.

My apologies. I didn't realize I was setting up a new thread. During a thunderstorm yesterday, I unplugged my smart TV and (pretty old) Roku. When I powered back up, the "dancing Roku" and blinking light appeared and wouldn't go away. I spent about 3 hours fooling around with the various "fixes" suggested by the Roku community, and nothing worked. I couldn't get rid of the "dancing Roku" and blinking light on the box. Finally, I gave up and ordered a replacement.
If I was a bright engineer working for Roku, I'd devise a message that replaced the dancing Roku with : "I'm broken; order a new one", instead of allowing a customer to waste hours farting around to no avail. How simple would that be?

Unfortunately, not simple at all. :) Without knowing the Roku model number, we don't know how old it is and if failure is likely. But yeah, when the boot screen doesn't continue, and a power cycle doesn't do anything to resolve it, it's possible that even unplugged some EMF from a lightning strike might have caused a problem.
