How do I access the Internet on my Insignia Roku TV?

I want to access some learning studies on line and want to know if I can access the internet to be able to do that.

  • Welcome, JulieChristine

You’d like to access some online learning materials and need an internet connection to do so.

We suggest trying these steps: Connect to the internet

    1. Turn on your TV and press the Home button on your Roku remote.
    2. Navigate to Settings > Network > Set up connection > Wireless.
    3. Select your Wi-Fi network from the list.
    4. Enter your Wi-Fi password using the on-screen keyboard.
    5. Once connected, your TV will confirm the connection and check for updates.

  • As RokuSuzette indicated, a Roku uses the internet to stream.  However, I'm guessing you want a web browser and there isn't one in Roku.  You could use some other device and connect an HDMI cable or use a screen mirroring feature to copy the other device's view to the TV. The HDMI cable from a computer is super simple and pretty much always works.  Wireless mirroring can be a bit fussy depending on router, router configuration etc.

Your guess was correct. I did not know I could download an app for the particular study I am doing. Thank a so much for replying so quickly.

  • You might want to search and see if those studies are available on the youtube channel or if there are any learning/educational channels available through the Roku store.  There is no way to use a Roku like a web browser.

In addition to, JWS9518 and Strega2, To access learning content on Roku, you can add educational channels from the Roku Channel Store or use screen mirroring. Popular apps like MasterClass, Wondrium, Curiosity Stream, and Study Gateway offer direct streaming. For platforms without a Roku app—such as Udemy—you can mirror content from your phone or computer to your Roku TV.

Thank you Suzette. The Study Gateway is the app I will use thanks to you. I did not know about this. I am obviously new to Roku so I do appreciate your help.
