express 4k+ initially paired but now stuck on pairing screen

The first time I paired my Express 4k+ out of the box the red light came on on the remote but the tv screen now won't go beyond the pairing screen (after the "get started" screen).  The unit flashes ...

    Yay!  Easy fix.  One of my brand new batteries was dead -straight from the package with a good date.  (FYI-Rayovac)

Thanks for the post.

Have you tried unplugging your Roku device and re-pairing your remote to see if you are still experiencing the same issue?
