Defective Roku voice remotes

I have a Hisense Roku TV from 2018. A few years ago I bought a Roku voice remote right off the TV. It worked for a while but shortly after would unpair itself and the voice option stopped working. Have tried to re-pair it 100 times. Changed batteries, unplugged the TV etc. The TV still shows Voice remote in the setting but wont recognize it when you try to pair it. It also eats batteries insanely fast like in a week. I’ve tried everything short of factory resetting the TV. I am unable to remove the remote from the TV’s memory with factory reset which takes hours.  I own another Voice remote that is paired to my downstairs TV with external Roku device which has never given me an issue. Should I buy a new remote and factory reset the TV and junk this one? I believe it’s defective. Roku should recall these first edition bad ones, but it’s setup where you can’t call customer service so you are just stuck buying a bad product. Remotes shouldn’t cost $30 when they were $20 just 4-5 years ago. I love my TV but this is bull**bleep**.😡
