Alexa app won't enable Roku skill

It sounds like your Roku Alexa app isn’t enabling the Roku skill. Here are a few steps you can try:

  • Restart the Alexa app and try again—sometimes a fresh start fixes glitches.
  • Make sure the Alexa app is updated to the latest version.
  • Try enabling the skill on a different device, like another phone or tablet.
  • Restart your Roku device by going to Home > Settings > System > System Restart.

    Here are some troubleshooting steps I've taken:

    • Uninstalling (completely removing from iPhone) the Alexa App and reinstalling it, and then logging back into the Alexa app
    • Confirming after re-installation that the Alexa app is on the last version via the App Store
    • Rebooting the iPhone
    • Restarting my Roku device

     

    None of the above steps allowed me to add the Roku skill.  I also tried to add in the Alexa app a few TV related skills, like DirectTV, which didn't work either.

    Unfortunately, I don't have another phone or tablet to use.  I really don't think the problem is with Roku.  It just seems that there is something wrong with the Alexa app that I'm hoping will get solved soon.

      To help us look into this further, please share the following details:

      • Roku device info: Software version, Device ID, and Serial Number (found in Settings > System > About).
      • Tracker ID Software version and build (press Home 5 times, then Back 5 times when the issue occurs)
      • A phone model
