It's great to see your post here, Bergelmir!
We see that you're also having an issue with Airplay. No worries; we're here to get this sorted out.
Please note that once a new update is installed on your Roku device, you cannot roll back to the previous software version. However, the Airplay issue needs to be investigated, as it happened after an update.
Your device details will give us more visibility into your concern. Could you provide the following information below?
- Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and Software Version. (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
- Tracker ID (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button five times, followed by the Back button five times, and provide us with this ID)
We are anticipating your prompt response!

I bit more info.
I found if I mirror my MacBook onto the Roku and play video on the mirrored screen the connection stays up ok.
I don’t know what the difference between mirroring and AirPlay is but it may be a clue for anyone looking into this issue at Roku.- RokuEmmanuel-D8 months agoCommunity Moderator
Hey, Jamiekirk. Thanks for the follow-up!
We understand that you may be confused about how these features differ from each other. Let me clarify this for you.
Screen mirroring displays your device's screen on another display (e.g., TV), while AirPlay streams content directly from your device to another display.
Could you tell us...
- What specific app/s are you having trouble with when using Airplay? Also, did this happen after an update?
Let's continue this conversation!

Exactly how some others have said. I’m Airplaying from iPhone 13 with IOS 18.3.1 to my Roku stick (auto update on and last updated 1/25). The music starts playing and the Airplay logo comes up for about 1sec on TV screen and then back to the Roku Home Screen where the music continues to Airplay for another 3-4mins then drops completely. Restarting Roku helps for about 1 day then back to same issue. Again the issue has been going on for months through various updates with no resolution
