Use a Roku Smart Soundbar to Display a Digital Food Menu

I’m exploring whether the Roku Smart Soundbar can serve as a digital food menu display for a restaurant or café. Since it has built-in streaming and display capabilities, is there a way to use it for showcasing menu items, prices, and daily specials? Ideally, I’d like a setup similar to the  , where food options are clearly presented in a visually appealing and easy-to-update format. Could this be achieved through a Roku app, a screensaver slideshow, or a third-party service? Additionally, would the Smart Soundbar’s voice control or other smart features help improve menu navigation for customers? Any recommendations on the best approach for implementing this would be greatly appreciated!

  • Welcome, jonshah!

We're glad you asked that! We would suggest using the Backdrops feature of the Roku Smart Soundbar to slideshow personalized photos on your TV screen.

  • Yes, you can use a Roku Smart Soundbar to display a digital food menu, but only when it's connected to a TV. The soundbar works like a Roku streaming device, so you can use apps or display your menu from the internet. Just connect it to your TV with HDMI, and you're good to go.

  • The Roku Smart Soundbar could work for displaying a digital food menu, but it has some limitations. While it can stream content and run apps, it’s not made for interactive displays. One simple option is to create a slideshow of your menu items and set it as a screensaver, but updating it would require changing the images manually.

  • I tried something similar once and ran into the same issue—Roku isn’t really built for looping custom content like menu boards. Some digital menu board companies offer hardware or software that’s meant to run slides or videos non-stop without needing user input, which worked way better for me. If you want it stable all day, that’s probably the direction to look.

  • i have also faced this issue and i have tried to fix it. i used different tool to display the food menu for my site. by the way at the end of the game i resolved it

I had the same question when considering the Roku Smart Soundbar for displaying a digital menu in a café. I wasn’t sure if it could handle a clean, update-friendly menu layout through apps or slideshows. I also wondered whether voice control could make navigation easier for customers.
