The TV speaker turns off when pairing hearing aids

I pair my hearing aids to my phone through the Roku app and the speaker to the TV turns off? Why? This makes it so I can't watch TV with others? This is not helpful. How can this get changed?

    Hi Dman1

    We get that you wanted to have an audio on your TV speaker while having it on your hearing aid. When using private listening on your Roku mobile app with your hearing aid, the TV speaker is often muted to prevent audio interference and provide the best sound quality for the hearing aid user.

    Also, all Roku TVs only support selecting one audio type at a time (eArc, TV speakers, or Optical) or connecting to a Bluetooth device.

    So is this Issue going to be fixed? I would like to be able to watch television with other family members. Currently I can't because if i activate the hearing aid function in the Roku App, then the sound is removed from the speakers so that the people I am with can't hear it!

      This issue has not been solved because Roku needs to re program the Roku app so that the speaker can work when hearing aids are used.

    I asked the same.  The app allows multiple people to use their AirPods though.  Not much consolation for me either, but an option.

      Just a heads up. The Roku app allows multiple users to connect their AirPods, which is convenient for group listening. However, Roku TVs only output audio from one source at a time—either the TV speakers or the connected audio device, like hearing aids or headphones.

        That's NOT a solution IF A PERSON DOES NOT OWN AIRPODS..... it still  says "However, Roku TVs only output audio from one source at a time—either the TV speakers or the connected audio device, like hearing aids or headphones."  Which means only one of the items listed at a time.  So a person using hearing aids is the one source.  The person using the hearing aids is the ONLY person that can hear the audio.  Anyone else in the same room can't hear any audio!!  AGAIN THIS IS NOT A SOLUTION.  ROKU WHY DON'T YOU JUST FIX THE APP SO THAT A PERSON CAN SELECT MULTIPLE METHODS TO HEAR THE AUDIO??????

    Please note that when using the Headphone Mode on the Roku Mobile App, the TV Speakers will automatically be muted, and no options to use them simultaneously along with the hearing aids. However, we'll take this one as feedback, and thanks again for your interest.
