Okay, I did three different videos in different apps. It is kind of hard to hear the distortion on the video though.

Our Roku tv & subwoofer updated last night and now the bass is sooo loud! We used to have it behind our couch & now I can't sit there to watch tv. We have restarted devices, done a factory reset, unplugged entire system, moved the subwoofer across the room, adjusted sound levels, and volumes. Nothing helps! Does anyone have this same issue?!

Hey! briannjami
We understand that you're also having this issue after an update. Can you please share what the latest software version of the Roku TV is so we can take a look? Also, what troubleshooting steps have you taken so far?
Let us know when you can!

We moved the subwoofer, restarted all devices, did factory resets on subwoofer, checked for additional updates, changed sound quality, changed volume, pretty much everything we can think of!

The subwoofer is software version 15.04.5526, tv says software version 15.0.

Thanks for the extra details! briannjami
Is this happening on all apps or only to some specific ones? Also, can we please get a video of the exact behavior, if possible? This will help us narrow things down.
Looking forward to your response!

It is all apps. It sounds muffled & it is very loud. I took a video, but it says file not allowed.

briannjami, thanks for the additional details!
For the video, try uploading it to Google Drive and paste the link here, and see if that will let you upload it.
We hope to hear from you soon!

While we look into this issue, we suggest adjusting the bass level in your Roku TV’s audio options to see if it helps.
- Start streaming or playing your content
- Press the star (*) on your Roku remote
- Select Advanced sound settings or Sound settings
- Choose your sound mode or change your sound settings
Also, make sure to note your current bass level before making any changes.
Let us know how it goes!

Okay, I can tell you that after the update all of these are set at zero or completely in the middle on each sound mode. Directly after the update we weren't allowed to adjust these at all, but after we did the factory reset we can adjust them, but each one is automatically set in the middle, even though they all sound different. We currently have the setting on dialogue so we can actually hear the content of the tv show we are watching. When I change it to music again we will have to change it so we can hear the music not be muffled.
