I told myself that my last comment was an overreaction and that things, especially electronics, just aren't made to last anymore. So, despite my better judgment, I replaced my non-functional Roku TV with a new one because, you know, I already have the speakers. What am I going to do, buy new speakers when I just bought these, like I'm made of money? Seriously, that was the deciding factor in going ahead and getting another Roku TV, the speakers, added with the hope of someday maybe possibly perchance acquiring one of those mythical subwoofers to pair with them.
Irony in 3... 2... 1...
Guess what? These brand new Roku speakers that were only just recently paired to my old TV will not pair with the new one because they're already paired to a Roku device.
I tried unplugging the speakers and then plugging them back in before holding the button for 10 seconds, putting them into pairing while the TV searches for them, but this does not work the way it's supposed to.
According to Roku, they're still paired with the old TV, and the way to unpair them (get this) is through the settings on the old TV. That's the only way Roku says that you can unpair their wireless speakers before pairing to a new TV. Are there any geniuses out there who can immediately pinpoint the problem here? I mean, that's just bad design. It seriously didn't occur to anyone that the reason somebody might be pairing their speakers to a new TV is because the old one is no longer functioning?
Are these speakers only able to pair with one other Roku device... ever? Are we living in a clown world here? Did I buy a brand new pair of wireless speakers only to have them service my audio needs for a couple of months? Do your wireless speakers mate for life like emperor penguins? What good does it do me if the only solution is within the settings of a TV that doesn't even power on? Hello? Does the moderator have another canned response that will prove super non helpful?
I wish I'd never gotten involved with Roku. These speakers will only pair to a Roku device. What was I thinking? Thanks for the brand new expensive paperweights. I swear to god, if it's not one thing, it's another with your shabby products. It almost seems like you people are trying to drive me away as a customer.
