How to connect a Bluetooth headset on Roku Streambar?

So call me confused: are the soundbars just the audio part and not the "play the movie" also?

I'm assuming just audio is picking up from the TV.

My main question is, my TV doesn't have Bluetooth for headsets (don't get me started on how I assumed something so mainstream would be missing - my bad, lol), so I typically use the remote pro with a headjack, which is a pain in that I have to carry the remote if I'm going to get something. Do the sound bars allow Bluetooth for a headset/AirPod, and if so, is there lag like when I try to play through their Android app headset connection?

Any other suggested combos without much lag?

  • Hey Wildrose,

The Roku Wireless Soundbar delivers clear stereo sound, crisp dialogue, and improved volume for the Roku TV. Additionally, for easier private listening, you can use the Roku mobile app. Here are the steps:

    1. Download a Roku Mobile App on your phone.
    2. Connect the Roku Mobile App to your Roku device.
    3. Open the Roku Mobile App.
    4. Tap on Remote in the navigation bar.
    5. Tap the Headphone icon to activate Headphone Mode.

I listen to tv a lot ..if I put the app on my phone it will run the battery down quicker plus it seems to lag the sound.  Thank you for the advice though. ๐Ÿ™‚

Can you tell me the warranty on my remote that's  not working right?

I have a new 65 inch smart Roku tv with the Roku wireless sound bar.  The set has bluetooth capability.  Is it possible to use the wireless sound bar and a pair of blue tooth headphones simultaneousl.  I have hearing issues and need higher volume through the headphones while my wife listens to the soundbar at normal volumes.

        Hey tedcalgary,

Thanks for sharing this issue here!

Just a quick note! Roku TVs and the Roku wireless soundbar cannot play audio through both the soundbar and Bluetooth headphones at the same time. You can use either the soundbar or the headphones, but not both. When you connect Bluetooth headphones, the sound from the soundbar (or TV speakers) stops.

        Hope this helps,

  • Hey! Soundbars are just for audio, not playing the movie itself. Some do support Bluetooth for headsets like AirPods, but there could be some lag, especially if the soundbar doesnโ€™t support aptX Low Latency. If your TV lacks Bluetooth, look for a soundbar with a built-in transmitter or consider a Bluetooth transmitter for your TV. Hope this helps!
