Bluetooth speaker connected to Roku Ultra LT

I have my Roku Ultra LT connected to a bluetooth speaker, which stays plugged into the USB port, so the battery is not going to run out.

My problem is, the bluetooth speaker turns off after a few minutes if I'm not actively playing sound out of it. I want it to stay on. If I want it off, I'll turn it off.

Turning itself off means I have to reconnect it each time.

Is there a setting in Roku that would let me keep my bluetooth speaker on? If there is, I haven't found it. Otherwise, is there any kind of solution?

  • Hi there! greenturtle39

It sounds like your speaker keeps disconnecting after a while—Just a quick heads-up: your speaker is actually connected directly to your TV, not to your Roku Ultra LT. While the Roku handles the streaming, the audio output comes from the TV itself.

Have you had a chance to try the speaker with any other devices to see if the issue still occurs? That could help narrow things down.

Looking forward to hearing back from you!

  • When those same speakers are connected to my Onn TV, they stay on even when the device hibernates.  Not so with the Roku.

It's definitely connected to my Roku because my Roku is connected to a computer monitor that doesn't have its own sound.  So I have to have it connected to a bluetooth speaker or there is no sound.

    Got it! greenturtle39

Here’s something we can try: On your Roku device, follow these steps:

Home > Settings > System > Power > Auto Power Savings Then, uncheck the option to disable it. This adjustment might help resolve the issue.

Let us know how it goes!

  • No, Roku Ultra LT doesn’t have a setting to keep Bluetooth speakers always on. The auto-off feature is usually on the speaker side, not Roku A possible workaround: try playing very low-volume silent audio continuously to keep the speaker active.
