YoutubeTV disappeared, now can’t download

YoutubeTV disappeared from my home screen on my Roku. When I go to redownload it, it says “couldn’t install app”. It will let me download other apps though. I updated my Roku and then restarted it and it’s still not working.

    Status update (4/10): We believe it’s been resolved.

    If YouTube TV is still missing from your home screen, try updating the Roku device by following these steps:

    Steps to Manually Update:

    1. Press Home on the remote and select Settings.
    2. Select System.
    3. Select Software Update.
    4. Choose Check Now to manually check for updates.

    If the issue persists after updating, let us know and we’ll look into it further.

    YouTube TV disappeared from two of my three active Roku home screens. When I try to add the app, it says "". I deleted it off the ONE that it was showing up on, restarted ALL of the Rokus and reinstalled. Reconnected to my account and all was good..... For 5 freaking minutes when the exact same thing happened again. Now the tile is NOWHERE to be found but I can open the app by searching for it. Is this a glitch? Who's fault is this, Roku or YouTube TV. It's enough to make me either cancel YT TV or switch to all Fire Sticks. Help!

    I've got the same problem. Tried doing exactly what you did and got the same results.

    I got mine squared away. Go to Settings and then Update Software. The YouTube App will automatically be added. Once you try logging into YouTube it will basically be like your doing it from scratch. Just follow the instructions on the screen and you'll be fine.

    Same on 3 of my devices, however I also have a TCL TV with embedded Roko and it still has it.  I power cycled my devices and did an update.  It did download an update but made no difference.

      Dan…. “Why complain to the community”…. Because I’m ignorant like you suggest, I suppose, you Jerk. The youtube tv app has disappeared. It shows it’s installed when you search for it in the AppStore and will not re-install or launch. Any Tom, **bleep**, Harry or Dan (other than king of streaming Dan ) would naturally go to the primary access provider… Roku…. 1st. 

      so what you’re suggesting is YouTube tv decided make the app vanish and render it  useless…. Just on a Roku TV???

       Works fine on mobile apps. 

      go find some people to be an ahole to in person. You could use a good slap in the mouth.

      I was watching YouTube TV when it suddenly crashed and then the app disappeared from the app list. When I find it in the streaming store, it says “Open App” but then when I add it, it asks me to put in my PIN. Then it says “cannot open app”.

      i tried restarting the player (streambar) but its still not there. I tried the “home 3x, up 2x, etc trick but the app isn’t listed there either. 

      anyone ever have this issue or have an idea on what to do?

    YouTube TV was working fine and I went out of it to watch something else and it disappeared. Tried to find it in the channel store and it says it couldn't launch the app. I am paying for YouTube TV and I know it isn't down.

    Having the exact same issue as of this afternoon - app disappeared.

    • When I search for it, says "Open App".
    • When I click that it says "Couldn't Install App. Could not add YouTubeTV"
    • System Update / System Restart didn't help.
    • Roku Express 4k+ - 3941X / Software version 14.1

    Same here in South Carolina. If you want to watch the college basketball championship, go to or subscribe to Paramount +.
