Unable to sign out on Plex app

Hello folks!

How can I/my friend successfully disconnect their Plex server from my Roku account?! This is driving both of us up a wall at this point:

A friend logged into their Plex server on my Roku stick a couple of years ago, and the app was later removed from the Roku. Imagine my surprise when I downloaded it this week and it was still logged in!

Problem: My friend isn't able to disconnect the Roku from their account, every time they de-authorize the device, my opening the Plex app on my Roku re-connects it. There is no logout option on Plex itself.

I've checked Plex forums and Reddit with no luck, anyone have luck with doing this?

It looks like your friend's Plex account is currently linked to your Roku device. No worries—there should be an option within the Plex app to sign out. Here are the steps.

Open the app, navigate to Settings in the upper-right corner, select account, then scroll down and choose 'Sign Out.'

Hope this helps! Let us know if you need more info.

      Hi team,

Unfortunately, the Roku app for Plex on my Roku stick does not have a means of going to the upper-right corner! There is absolutely 0 option for settings. The open plex app shows the time and logo in the top right, but only allows me to move left/right between user profiles in the Plex app.

I've tried updating the app, uninstalling and re-installing, and verifying that my Roku software is also up to date. My friend has repeatedly removed the device from their authorized devices during this process, but nothing has worked.

Any other ideas or help would be appreciated, thank you!

        Hey, stabinkroku

Thanks for the update and the troubleshooting steps you have tried.

        Consider trying these steps:

        1. Open the Plex Web App using a computer or mobile browser and sign in to your account.
        2. Go to the Account Settings, then select Devices or Authorized Devices.
        3. Find your Roku device in the list of linked devices.
        4. Click the red “X” next to the Roku entry to remove or deauthorize it.

Let us know how it goes!
