Unable to play any apps in Roku

Please help! Can not get my apps to open. Called my Internet provider and Internet is fine. They said it must be ROKU problem. The only one that opens is YouTube.

    I understand you're unable to get apps on your Roku device. You can try these steps:

    • Power Cycle the Roku Device: Settings > System > Power > System Restart.
    • Update Roku Software: Settings > System > System Update > Check Now.

  • Same problem here. Any app either does nothing or it sits there ‘spinning’ trying to load forever. Unfortunately, the same thing happens attempting to power cycle the Roku. GRRRRRR.  And no one to call and get it fixed!!!

      Can you please provide the following information?

      • How far is your Roku device from your network router?
      • When did the issue start?
      • Do you have cellular data so we can try connecting your device to your hotspot?

        Please HELP JohnB!!! Another day with no way to watch my TV!

  • It is not my router every other app works fine ! The issue started a few weeks ago. I don’t understand why you can’t figure this out as many of us are complaining about the same issue.  I think Roku and paramount + need to figure this out or your both going to loose alot of business.  There are lots of streaming devices out there!

      Have you tried restarting your Roku device to see if you notice any improvements? Also, what specific apps are affected since you've mentioned that other apps work?

  • I tried that but I just count out that I do have as blocker on my frontier account and this started happening when they added something called WiFi security to my account.  I am go to remove it unless you have a fix for this

      As for your Paramount+ app issue, which won't play any content, you have to disable ad-blocking settings on certain routers. If the issue continues, contact the Paramount+ Support directly for further assistance.

        I fixed the problem and it was with Frontier router adblockers need to be disabled.  All fixed!  Thanks for the help !

  • My router is about 15’ from the TV and it is working properly. I restarted the router just in case but it made no difference.

    I was gone for one week and returned to find this problem. Neither my remote nor my phone remote app works to make any app start. They just sit there.

    Yes, I have cellular data.
