No ad blocker for YouTube on Roku

One of the worst things about the youtube app on Roku is there's no add blocker. So you have to endure endless commercial interruptions in blocks of multiple 30 second spots or more of full on commer...

    I understand you were hoping to enjoy YouTube streaming without the disruption of ads.

    Just a heads up, if you have YouTube Premium, you might be able to sign in and watch videos with fewer or no ads. To be sure this works for your app, it’s best to ask YouTube directly. You can contact their support team here.

Add me to the list of users who are irritated at the sudden injection of ads while watching content. I normally have Youtube playing music while I work, but I have noticed it on other platforms.. It use to be enjoyable, but now....... I get lengthy ads / commercials some times twice during a cut - which is less than 4 minutes! Try to listen to a play list? Impossible. And of course, many times it is the same annoying ads. I can't believe that's the best they can do. So, Now I've tuned out - which defeats the reason to inject ads - now I don't see any of them. I'm sure Youtube will be happy as the clicks drop off

I read (here) that this is controlled by Roku and not the content providers. True?  Go back to the enjoyable platform

    We know how important it is for you to enjoy streaming YouTube without ad interruptions.

    Just a quick note, Roku handles ads on its home screen and within The Roku Channel, but any ads shown in the YouTube app are managed by YouTube itself. You can have YouTube Premium to enjoy ad-free access.
