I'm having the exact same problem with my Roku TV... Going from over the air antenna channels to streaming, the streaming channel blacks out after a few seconds. Have restarted the Roku TV twice. Reset picture settings.
This only started after I installed the Roku Backgrounds app. It never happened before that. I uninstalled the Roku Backgrounds app and restarted the Roku TV... Twice. But it keeps happening. I've been using this TV for months without this problem... It only began after installing Backgrounds.

Still happening. When I switch from Ant. to streaming the picture goes blank after a minute and then the audio drops. Change to another streaming channel and back and it stabilizes. Can't go back and forth. The first indication is the audio isn't sync'd with the video. I hope this is resolved soon.

This did not help me. I have a Invicta Roku tv. It happens both ways for me. If I stay on a Roku streaming channel, no problem. If I toggle to an over-the-air channel, then back to a streaming channel, this happens. Every day I first check for updates. Then I check my internet for the best connection. Last, I restart the Roku TV (with Home-Home-Home-Home-Home, Up, Rewind, Rewind, FFwd, FFwd) before I start viewing. I have even completed a hard reset by unplugging the tv. Nothing is helping.

We noticed that you are also experiencing an issue with the streaming apps and over-the-air channels, and thank you for trying the suggested troubleshooting steps.
Could you try to restart the TV again by following these steps: Press Home > Select Settings > Select System > Power (if that option is not there, skip to the next step) > System restart.

Hi have the same problem. I've tried everything including factory reset.
i've noticed if I have moved from antenna to streaming and then go to a second streaming channel then back it does not go blank. Unless I go to an antenna channel again. I have the same problem on all three of my Roku machines. It seems to started happening when they started putting streaming channel at the top of the menu. This seems to be a Roku issue, not a machine issue.

- Please provide the Roku model, serial number, device ID, and software version. (You can find these details under Settings > System > About.)
- Tracker ID: When the issue happens, press the Home button 5 times and then the Back button 5 times to generate it.
- What other troubleshooting steps did you take aside from a factory reset?
- A photo or video of the issue would help.

Heres what i have been able to figure out so far: it only happens on live channels. I also have an antenna and those channels have no issue. I use subtitles. When the channels go black the subtitles still follow along with the audio without disappearing (so its not a whole screen thing, its a channel thing). If i use the system power off/restart it fixes it for a couple days and then will start it again. No system updates needed. Has not happened when using any apps so far its just the live tv streaming channels. Channel doesn't matter i will try several of them and they have all blacked out but audio and subtitles are fine. My moms tv has started doing the same thing. Both are Onn tvs. Different sizes and models and years

Okay my TV is doing the same. Live TV guide. Watching a local channel. Antenna and WIFI. Picture went black, then audio gone. Had to hit home to get it fixed. This has been going on for several weeks. I thought it was my tv having issues. Now I find this information. TV is up to date.

It only occurs when switching from Live TV over-the-air antenna channels to the streaming channels farther down in the Live TV app guide.
However, I was able to fix it. I uninstalled the Live TV app. Then I restarted the Roku TV (with Home-Home-Home-Home-Home, Up, Rewind, Rewind, FFwd, FFwd. Then I re-installed the Live TV app. Since then it seems to have stopped but I will continue to monitor the problem.

Roku Support is there any resolution to this issue, seems to be experienced by multiple people on multiple devices. I have 2 additional TVs TCLs with the same issue. It appears to be the Antenna imput & Roku streaming channels. If you only use antenna you can switch to any other antenna stations back & fourth no issues. Also if you only go into Roku Live TV (streaming channels only) you can swap between streaming channels with no issue.
If you watch an antenna station for 5 minutes, then switch to a streaming channel. It will sometimes work, hit the back button to return to previous antenna channel, wait till info bar disappears, then hit back button to previous streaming channel - wait 20 to 30 secconds = black screen.

Hello vego and RokuSuzyL. I also am having the same issue when switching from Live TV over-the-air antenna channels to the streaming channels on all of channels on both. I will try this suggestion and let you know if this doesn't work.

You misunderstand, I'm still having the issue. I can press the OK button when the screen is black & the info bar appears, but the screen is still black work sound from the streaming channel

First uninstall the Live TV app. Then restart the Roku TV. Then reinstall the Live TV app. Then restart the Roku TV. That's what worked to stop the "streaming black screen with audio only after switching from live TV channels" problem for me.
