[Solved] Service Interruption with Google Home/Alexa Commands & Device Connection

Hey everyone!

If you were experiencing issues with your smart home device not connecting or Google Home/Alexa commands not working.

Status Update 8/13 9 AM PST: We believe the issue is now resolved.

    Also, this clearly needs to be marked unsolved.  This issue is not resolved.

    Hey everyone!

    Status update: We're aware of the recurring issue with Alexa commands not working with Roku Smart Home devices. This is now being investigated.

    In the meantime, we would recommend trying it again later. We'll circle back once we get more info!

      Also Google and unable to edit or save rules. Rules do not run either

    This was supposedly fixed yesterday, but it has returned.  Unable to save or edit rules receive message "Operation failed. Please try again later". No rules will run and have also lost Google Home integration.

    Finally... found a thread for this issue as I've been having trouble the last 2-3 days. Will get a "Operation Failed. Please Try Again Later" error. I try to tell my echo to turn on/off lights and it won't do it. Getting super frustrated. Have done ALL the troubleshooting steps like 20 times (no exaggeration) definitely a bug or glitch that needs to get fixed!

        As of 2050 on 8/15 things seem to be okay now. Just hope it stays that way!

    I'm having issues since sometimes 8/12, now just past midnight on 8/13. My cameras seem fine but if I try and use my echo to turn on/off my Roku smart lights (color) they're not responding. If I try and implement a shortcut/rule "Operation Failed. Please Try Again Soon. Getting frustrated and hope it's an app glitch that gets fixed soon. Never had this problem go on for soooo long.

    Resolved about 5 pm EST. The one plug I had reset took the longest to start working again. 

    Mine are still not responding to Google home, with spoken commands, or from the app. I've updated, refreshed, relinked, even forgotten and re paired devices. Nothing is working.

      Thanks for the update! We'd like to take a closer look. Could you please provide the following info?

      • Roku Make/Model: 
      • ESN, DID, Roku Software Version/Build: (Go to Settings > System > About)
      • GC Version:
      • ISP (Internet Provider):
      • Tracker ID: Press Home 5 times, then Back 5 times during the issue (a photo of the screen helps!)
      • GC Version: 


      Once we have this info, we will share it with the right team.

    Negative.  2 days and none of the plugs respond to Google commands or routines.  Will only follow commands in the Roku Smart Home app which until tonight refused to update with Google Play Store.  I had to download an APK just to turn things off!!!  The TV also wouldn't respond to Google commands until tonight.  Seriously about to reconsider Roku and buy Govee devices.  Had those bulbs for years...zero issues.

    I have Roku Light bulbs and plugs, the lights work fine but the plugs were not working through Alexa 8/13 they came back later on 8/13 and the plugs are back out as of last night 8/14 but the Roku light bulbs are working
