  • Starting yesterday (Saturday, January 11, 2025), the NFL app is crashing after 2-3 minutes in the middle of full game playback of a completed game. Before that date, no such problem - ever. I've tried restarting Roku, deleting and reloading the NFL app, etc. and nothing fixes the issue. This issue is NOT specific to a single TV or the type of Roku device -- it's happening on all my TVs (Vizio, Samsung, TCL) and all Roku streaming devices. Just tried loading the condensed version of the Broncos-Bills game and that caused the Roku to crash and restart without even fully loading. (At least there are 2-3 minutes on full game replay!) This is only happening with the NFL app; all other apps functioning normally. What is the problem?!?

We are having the exact same problem right now- NFL app crashes a few minutes into the full game replay of Bills Broncos. Condensed game won’t even start

Same issue here, was able to watch a full condensed game yesterday, today attempting to watch the condensed game results in the entire Roku shutting down and restarting.

Same behavior here...2 or 3 minutes then back to home screen.  If trying to watch a condensed game it never starts - the TV shuts down and restarts.

I am having the same problem. I made it through a condensed game last night but that's it. I had to watch ravens game on Amazon luckily I could watch replay on there. Frustrating

Our NFL app works intermittently. It often boots us out. I’ve googled solutions and none of them have worked. And then I spent 20 minutes trying to find out how to call Roku, and there is no phone number. If your platform is hosting an application, then it is your responsibility to make sure it works. If you sell a service, it is your responsibility to provide a phone number for customers to call you.

  • NFL app keeps crashing back to homepage. Restarted, router, restarted Roku box and unplugged the TV.

      Ssgwilluam-

After removing the channel, but BEFORE reinstalling it, did you RESTART** your Roku to clear its memory cache?  Without the restart you may not get a clean reinstall.  This is not a cure-all but at least it will assure you of having an uncorrupted copy of the current channel app.

Depending on your Roku model number you'll find the "System restart" option under either "Settings > System > Power" or under "Settings > System".   If you don't have sufficient control to use the menus, or if it is just more convenient, you can also restart by pulling the power plug for a short while, then plugging it back in.

**On a Roku TV with "Fast TV Start" enabled, turning the TV off/on only puts you in/out of a low power standby state, it does NOT give you a complete restart.  Use the methods above

The following is what I sent to the NFL.   I've been in conversation with them since last week trying to get resolution to the fact that certain game replays either won't start at all or start and then close out the app and return to the Roku homescreen.

I’m sitting down now trying to play the full game replay of the Chiefs and Texans.   The replay starts, goes for a couple minutes then closes the app and returns me to the Roku homescreen.    I reopen the app, select full game replay and start the game and the replay starts, not at the beginning but a minute or so before the point where it cut off.  It’s starting as if I left the app and am returning to the game.   So I’m watching the same thing I saw before it cutoff for a minute or so however it progresses past the point where it cutoff and runs for another couple minutes before it kicks me out of the app and returns to the Roku homescreen.  I reopen the app and do it again.  It starts the replay about a minute before where it cutoff the last time I tried to watch and progresses past the point where it cutoff only to cutoff again a couple minutes later.

Full game replay not working. Shuts off after few minutes. I even tried waiting until day after. Wake up in the morning and ready to watch. The problem is on Rokus end. I can airplay from my tablet to tv just fine.

So has this issue been resolved? I’m just curious. The NFL app is working perfectly on the Apple TV I purchased to replace the Ultra I had. Such a same as I used to enjoy Roku. No more. And what really pisses me off is that I had to pay to ship back the Ultra to Roku. Even though their product was defective. I’ll never buy or own another Roku device.

  • Crashes on playback of full game. Works OK on condensed game.
