I have a TCL 50S423 Roku TV running Roku OS 14.6. When watching over-the-air (OTA) channels via the built-in tuner, the screen goes black exactly on the hour (e.g., 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM). The video stays blank until I reselect the channel or change channels.

  • The TV shows strong signal on all channels.
  • Antenna connection is solid.
  • I have performed a full factory reset.
  • Firmware is up to date (Roku OS 14.6).
  • Other TVs using the same antenna feed work fine.

It seems like a software bug tied to a background task or guide update on the hour. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas or confirmation from Roku?

    Thanks for reaching out! 

    I understand that you're having an issue with the Live TV, and all you're seeing is a black screen. To get investigated, please provide the following details:

    • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, OS version, and build. (This can all be found in Settings > System > About)
    • Tracker ID (press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times)

      This has all been provide to Roku support and they are working on it.  Just posted here to see if anyone else was having this problem

      On the hour, every hour TV goes blank.  My 65R915 not doing it on 14.5

      Why are you not rolling back release of 14.6

      A lot of you seems to be in the states, I'm in the UK and this exact same things happen to me. Streaming is fine, but any live TV it goes blank with no sound after 15-30 minutes later, change the channel and spot on again. 

      I've hard reset it, removed all screensavers, uninstalled all streaming apps and unplugged many times, yet this issue is still present.
