A restart just now fixed the problem for me, but that was not the case yesterday. Something must have changed, but I'm not sure what-- it doesn't appear to be the software per se.
Model: Roku 3 - 4200X
Software version 14.6.4 build 9914, last updated 6/24/25
Last night / early this morning I must have restarted five or six times, but at the time, it had no effect. Now it appears to fix the issue.
Edit - I don't know if this is relevant, but one of the things I tried last night was clearing the cache. That did not solve the problem, but I wonder if that has something to do with why a system restart now solves the problem for some people, but not others. Anyway, the clear cache procedure is:
- Touch the Home button on your Roku remote.
- Choose the Home option.
- Now, perform the following commands using your Roku remote.
- Press the Home button five times.
- Next, press the Up button one time.
- Press the Rewind button three times.
- Finally, press the Fast Forward button two times.
After this process, your device will need up to 30 seconds to restart itself and clear the cache on the system.
