[Solved] Back button on Roku not working

We’ve seen reports where the back arrow button on some Roku remotes isn’t working.
Status update 8/28: We believe the issue is now resolved by performing a system restart.

nope, it's system wide issue, I have two separate Roku's/remotes. Issue first started last night and continued this morning.
Some say the restart/reboot fixes it but last night that would not work for me.
what does temporarily fix it is using the star button to toggle the closed caption popup.
close the popup, then the back arrow button works again, for a while at least
Hasn’t worked for me either. Ditching Roku and going with Google from now on.
