+1 here as well. I too like a "clean" Home Screen, with only the minimum necessary buttons showing.
I have a Roku on all of my TVs. The thing is, I have a couple TVs which don't get used quite as often, so whenever I do turn them on, I have a dozen things on my Home Screen I don't care about and have to go manually remove.
To Roku Support: Don't bother asking us for software version, model number, etc. You know that you don't need it for this, because this is a global platform "feature" that you do with ALL of your products and software versions; a "feature" which needs to go away.
Instead of wasting our time gathering info about individual devices, please, just tell the developers we hate this and at least want a simple checkbox in the settings to disable new menu items. It's not hard to do. They can easily do it. And we very much need it. Or we WILL jump ship.
Is it worth having your loyal customers ditch your platform because you all are forcing things down our throats? There are plenty of other "streambox" options now. Roku used to be the one with the most apps by a longshot; now, even the cheapest TVs have most of the same streaming apps built-in. So please, show your most loyal users that Roku actually listens to and cares about them. We are the ones who keep coming back, so don't shoo us away by forcing us to look at a menu option we JUST removed the night before because we didn't care about it then either.
