Re: NFL App Still Crashing after Start Up

Having the same issue I had a few days ago.  I try to launch the NFL app and it starts to load and goes back to the Home Screen.  Why does this keep happening!

Same thing for me.  It worked fine yesterday.

Resets / updates etc .. all that stuff didn't fix it.

Roku 4k, same issue. NFL app just has a spinning circle, starts to load and displays left frame and then crashes back to Home Screen. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled, updated, restarted Roku. Same issue.

I should add that this issue seems confined to the Roku platform..  I have Android TV devices, Roku, Firetv..

The app seems to load and play fine on the others.  So if you have an old Firetv stick laying around.,you could switch to it in the interim.  (ironically, I actually bought a Roku stick a few years ago only for the NFL app since the performance on the other platforms was so awful.)

This is interesting.. because one of the reasons I have a Roku device where I watch football, is because the app experience is superior on the Roku platform, and it generally works better.   The difference in user experience was much larger in the past than today..   Today all versions of the app essentially behave the same, but still the Roku platform is the smoothest performer for the NFL app.

By trade I am a systems engineer and deal with this kind of thing often.   I understand that things like this can happen.  It doesn't mean the design was horrible or there is a glaring engineering defect, but obviously something isn't working.

Fingers crossed it will get fixed soon.

Once again, Roku has failed to fix the problem. Since this seems to be happening over and over again, maybe you're just putting a band aid on a wound and not actually fixing the problem. This issue happens on ever Roku device I have, but not on any other device that I have the NFL app installed on. The issue is obviously on Roku's end and not the NFL. Please stop doing stop gap fixes and find the root of the issue and fix that.

Please fix this and do it correctly this time. You'd think that after 3 or 4 tries, you would have gotten it correct by now.

    Thanks.

I agree. It’s very frustrating when you pay for an app and a device and it doesn’t do a simple thing like…actually work.

What would happen if  everyone stopped their payment to NFL and requested a refund if this isn't fixed in a week or so?
