Roku model: 3960X , latest software (14.6) Dears, Apps like Disney + and HBO Max do not appear in my streaming store. Before I had Disney + and Netflix and it was just HBO Max that was the problem. BJ's Wholesale has a Roku TV model that I can't seem to find any information on at all. The model number is 50R5C6. It says it has a QLED panel but otherwise looks similar to the select series. Where can I find more information about this product? Does it support VRR and Google Cast? What is the power rating on the USB C port?41Views1like0Comments1GBs ethernet for Roku Ultra (2024)
I would buy 3 or 4 of these if they had at least 1GBs ethernet. Everything else I have is 1GBs to 2.5gbs. Many of us, for very technical reasons, including wifi interference with other systems, do not use wifi. We wish you would listen to the enthusiasts who are looking for the best and would easily pay. This lack of upgrade prevents me from seeing any substantial improvement in my current setup.4KViews1like10CommentsVoice remote open app command not working
When I give the voice command to open an app, it gives me a selection menu. For example "Open HBO MAX". It doesn't open the HBO MAX app. It opens a selection menu for selecting the HBO MAX app or Amazon prime HBO MAX or HBO MAX through some other service. How do I get it to open just the regular app not give me a selection menu?33Views2likes2CommentsAlexa can't control my TCL Roku TV since I switched to Alexa+
TV is less than a year old. With Alexa, I could control the TV volume, pause whatever was playing, etc. Everything worked fine. Since switching to Alexa+, all I can do with Alexa+ is turn the TV on/off. Can't control anything else. I see that the Alexa skill for Roku been updated in two years so I'm hoping Roku will update the skill soon and correct the problem. Does anyone have any information concerning an updated skill or a work-around to the problem? I've already removed the Roku skill from the Alexa+ app and re-installed it but that had no affect.Solved289Views1like20CommentsWhat Roku has DD+ -> DD conversion?
I have come across a couple threads that suggest that the Ultra 4640 and 4800/4802 have a DD+ decoder inside them and that they will convert DD+ to DD internally and send DD to the TV/AVR. I see some conflicting information though. Including some posts that suggest that these devices used to have the capability, but that more recent software updates have removed this capability. Can anyone confirm that these (or any) Roku devices will internally transcode DD+ to DD? I have an old AVR that I love, it is otherwise better audio quality than almost anything on the market today, but it supports DD/DTS only. This has been enough until recently, since most streaming has moved to DD+ only. Thanks.Solved117Views0likes12CommentsRoku TV Backdrops app Favorites not showing up on the homescreen
Step 1. I add photos from other collections in available groups. Step 2. I navigate to favorites and confirm what I've chosen. Step 3. I then choose "Set as Backdrop", a message displays "Backdrops set to Favorites" Step 4. I navigate to the home menu, and then re-enter into the Backdrops app and the app auto added photos I didn't add. Not sure what's happening, I was assuming that Backdrops would use my favorites, not add ones it thinks I should now have.Solved71Views1like6CommentsWhy I Chose Roku, and Why I'm Losing Faith
I chose Roku because it used to represent something rare in the streaming world: a seamless, user-friendly experience. No clutter. No aggressive promotion. Just a clean interface that respected how I watched, what I watched, and continue watching without disruption. That simplicity was the reason I invested in Roku over other platforms. But lately, that experience has eroded The What to Watch section has become unpredictable, with rows like Explore Recommendations and Your Apps constantly overriding the Continue Watching row—even though Continue Watching reflects actual playback behavior. I've made no changes to my device, yet these overrides persist across sessions, suggesting server-side manipulation without user consent. What's especially frustrating is that Roku offers "Show/Hide" toggles for sections like Live TV and Featured Free, but not for Your Apps, which already exists on the Home screen. Why replicate a row that users have already curated—and allow Your Apps to displace the one row that actually supports continuity I'm reaching the point where I no longer want to use What to Watch section at all. If Roku allowed me to remove every Home screen item except Home and Settings, I would do so in a flash. Not out of spite, but because the interface no longer respects user's intent. It feels like Roku has shifted from empowering users to steering them. I'm posting this not just for myself, but for others who chose Roku for the same reasons I did. If this is part of a test, rollout, or a permanent design change, users deserve transparency—and the ability to opt out. I still believe Roku can course-correct, but that starts with listening to the people who trusted the platform to begin with.40Views0likes0CommentsUnable to save changes on Backdrops
Same problem with my Roku's. I remove items from My Favorites or clear My Favorites but when I re-launch Backdrops or reboot the Roku, all the items are back again. Can't get rid of them.
