Wired Doorbell will not connect to Wifi
I know how to use Wifi. I have a very fast network. My Wifi works. I have three Roku cameras - all connected to Wifi perfectly. The wired Doorbell will NOT connect. I followed the steps in the app. After scanning the QR Code, it says "connecting." It spins for a while and then says it failed. I've reset it and done it all over (with the NEW QR code). Same result. My Wi-Fi name and password are 100% correct. It's a 2.4 GHz, but it fails repeatedly. So, I created a new network just for this device. I locked it down so it's ONLY 2.4 GHz. I tested it with my phone—it connects instantly. The strength of the doorbell is excellent. I disconnected my phone, so nothing is connected to this network. Tried all over again. Fails. This device refuses to connect to Wifi. I even watched it on my network. It's connected. I can see it. I could even rename the device. But the app says the connection failed. I don't need boilerplate: restart modem, restart router, check password, blah, blah. I know all that - did all that and more. This device won't connect, and I'm finding many others complaining about it. So - what's the solution? Return and try a new one? Or is this not a device that will work and be dependable?Solved130Views1like4CommentsAll 4 indoor cameras are going offline
This is the third time in under 2 weeks I have noticed that all 4 of my indoor "smart" cameras are offline. They are on different power sources in different parts of the house. I am evaluating these cameras, so there are additional cameras from different vendors right next to the Roku cameras. All of the other cameras are working just fine, zero issues. Is this a common issue with Roku? If so, I can cut the evaluation short and return them. Before anyone jumps on and says my network is the issue. I've been a network engineer for over 30 years and I can assure you I test my wireless network all the time. It's fine. There are at least 10 other webcams going and they are all fine. In fact some are WYZE cameras, the company that makes the Roku cam, and they are all fine. So is wrong with these cams?48Views1like1CommentRoku Camera Error Code - 45
Every single time we try to check the live feed on the app, or play recorded events, we see that they're offline, won't reconnect (error code -45) & have not even been recording events (despite paying the monthly subscription fee). Tell me, Roku... What the **bleep** is the point of even having cameras installed & paying for a monthly subscription if the junk don't stay connected & don't record events? Are you going to do anything to make this right? We don't need a cut & pasted response about reset instructions & it's not our wifi. So, now what???1.3KViews0likes13CommentsLive Stream freezes and loses connection on Roku TV camera app
Hi, Below is my camera model, a description of the problem along with several common troubleshooting steps that I’ve already taken. Camera Model: CW20005 – Wired outdoor security camera. Problem: Live view only works for a few seconds when viewing on the TV. After playing for a few seconds, the screen freezes, and then says, “unable to connect to camera”. I’ve included a short video showing the problem. Linked below. https://v4musclebike.com/roku/007.MOV The live view works fine from my phone. This only happens when viewing the live view from my TVs. Happens on all TVs in the house. The Roku TV in my living room, and the one in my bedroom which uses a Roku streaming stick. This just started happening recently. Perhaps since the last update was installed on my TV on December 20th 2024. Here are links to a couple of screenshots showing some information about my device, and an issue report tracker. https://v4musclebike.com/roku/info.JPG https://v4musclebike.com/roku/tracker.JPG These are the troubleshooting steps I’ve taken so far: Deleted and re-installed the Smart Home app on my phone. Re-added all the cameras. Checked that the camera firmware versions are up to date. (6.1.0 build 48-FD) Removed and reinstalled the Camera viewer app on my Roku TV. Verified that the app is up-to-date. Restarted the router. Checked internet connection (its good). Checked other applications. Only happens on the Camera App. Happens on both of my Roku devices/TV. Does not happen when viewing from my phone’s smart home app. Due to the fact that this problem only started happening recently, and that it only happens on my TV Roku devices, I believe something in the last Roku update is causing this issue. I noticed some other people reporting similar issues online. Again, this problem ONLY happens when viewing the live view from my TVs. When I view recorded events from the TV, they play fine. Live view works fine from my phone as well. I have 6 of these cameras, all of which are having this issue when viewing live from my TV.Solved2.7KViews1like54CommentsChanging the Wi-Fi router password for smart home cameras
So it looks like if i change my router password i then have to reinstall all my cameras all over again. What brilliant stupidity is this? I have 12 cameras. And also on the app if anyone logs in they cam shut the cameras off from the app 🤔. So besides a signal jammer theres many other ways to exploit these cameras. But to have to reinstall all of them if u think your wifi password is compromised. Fml853Views3likes3CommentsApp will not find the local network + App will not scan the QR code - FIXED
Android phone. 1. App did not find the local wireless network. Had to enter the network name and password manually. 2. App would not scan the QR Code. Make a screen shot of the QR code, then print it with the printer paper set to 4x6. The camera will scan the printed QR code (used a distance of about 10").411Views0likes0CommentsBattery Cameras (SCB11-01X) error code -20
