⚠️Buyer Beware: Roku Cameras No Longer Record Motion Events Without a Subscription
Just a heads up for anyone confused about why your Roku smart camera stopped showing motion events or snapshots — it’s not a bug. As of July 16, 2025, Roku quietly removed the ability to see motion-triggered images or recordings unless you pay for a subscription. I confirmed this with Roku support. They said the feature was removed because “still images were underutilized” and that now you need a Roku Smart Home Subscription to see events. There was no warning, no email, no notification — it just stopped working. You’ll still get motion alerts, but now they don’t include any image or video unless you’re paying monthly. That kind of defeats the purpose of a security camera. What changed: Motion events no longer save images or recordings Notifications still come through, but there’s nothing to see Roku support says this is intentional and permanent I used to rely on those snapshots to check what triggered alerts — now it just says “motion detected” with no info unless I’m watching live. I’ve already filed a complaint with the BBB, and I encourage others to do the same. If you live in California, Washington, or NY, you may also want to contact your state a general’s office — they tend to take consumer protection issues more seriously.77Views4likes3CommentsUpdate the Roku Doorbell to work with existing home chime.
Please update the Roku Doorbell to work with existing home chimes. 99% of the video doorbells can utilize existing home chimes and this is the only one where you have to pair and inaudible electronic chime to the device. This should be fixed, so the existing chime (which resonates through the house) can be used in conjunction with the blue tooth chime. Most single family homes have existing home chimes that resonate through the house. The blue tooth Roku chime is barely audible and sounds horribly electronic. I cannot hear it beyond the area it is installed. The solution is barely rocket science and can easily be added with the correct programming and wiring.82Views2likes3CommentsJust logged out of the Smart Home account, and think it might have been hacked.

I AM CONSTANTLY getting signed out of my account, they are always saying there's people in a room and my dogs start barking insanely at that moment....idk the cameras pick up strange sounds of booms and bangs etc.....maybe too many spooky stories for this girl! But my cameras are also ALWAYS going offline at the most inconvenience times!! Only specific ones....I am beyond creeped out! Can someone control what I see and don't see on my camera?Solved2.4KViews0likes2CommentsError Code List for Cameras

My indoor 360 just stopped working. No power. I probably had it for about 1 year. The indoor camera is glitching. Badly. I have had to send back two or three cameras because of your poor products. I have the camera professional that setting up these cameras because of this nonsense. Are you going to replace my cameras or not? If not I will go to ring I know it cost more but I'm tired of this .503Views0likes0CommentsRoku Outdoor Camera SE minimum focal length
I would like to mount a wifi Roku Outdoor Camera SE with solar panel on my mother's bird feeder so that if she looks out in the back yard and sees a bird on the feeder she can immediately view it on her TV via the Roku Camera Channel on her Roku Player. Does anyone know the minimum (sharp) focal length of this camera? It needs to be around 8 inches or less.345Views0likes0CommentsWhen do you offer a Smart plug surge protector?
Is there a reason Roku hasn't made these yet? something like a 6 plug 2 usb would be great so I didn't have all those separate bulky plug switches. You already have a 2 plug outdoor but ( as far as I can tell) it's not surge protected. It couldn't be that much of a leap could it?24Views0likes1Comment
