Roku 3 Device Issues
I recently called support with a problem with my roku 3 which they couldn't solve and I was told the devic ?e could be upgraded to a newer one for around $30.00 which sounds pretty reasonable for these times.My tv doesn't have a fire stick capability am I being sent on a fools errand ?
Subtitle Error: S2 Episode 1 (E13) of My Dress Up Darling
Anyone else having troubles with the English Subtitles for S2 Episode 1 (E13) of My Dress Up Darling through the Roku Crunchyroll app. Other subtitles load just fine but those seem to be not able to load correctly. Is anyone playing through Crunchyroll Directly? Is it working fine their? Trying to figure out if this just a Roku issue..or if crunchyroll is having troubles?
JIM TERRY TV
This app states false advertising. Jim Terry’s criminal records are public information & reflect his background of illegal business practices & felonies. He is still impersonating a private investigator in the description of this app “JIM TERRY TV”. Mississippi is one of the only states in the nation where all it takes to become a PI is a $25 business license which Jim did for a couple of years but withdrew in May of 2023 upon the editorial in the Rolling Stone magazine (same time) detailing how Jim Terry was scamming & harassing families of missing children as well as unethical practices & behavior. Jim’s expired business license from Biloxi Mississippi can be found online as it is public record. Meaning he is NOT a private investigator nor is he a professional athlete. He is a true con man. His brother, Mark Terry, is the front man who will adamantly deny every truth about his brother being a criminal and a liability. Not someone to be tied to. He has many legal suits coming his way. Ita important for people to know the truth about this channel since every episode (CRAB LEG FRIDAY) is built around a grift advertising his cash app asking people to send him money for a “crab leg dinner” that does not exist. During these shows he exploits his past victims, harassing them & their neighbors, family and friends. It’s degrading and defamation. He is profiting off exploitation of disabled and handicapped people as well. Protected classes of people with rights that are clearly being violated. To prevent children, disabled, senior citizens from being attacked and harassed or scammed by Jim Terry or Mark Terry it’s important to get the facts out.
Roku Channel shows a black screen and then kicks back to the home screen.
My Roku Channel won't play anything. When I attempted to watch something, my screen will go black for a second before going back to the movie/show main page. I've tried updating the app, resetting it, deleting and redownloading it.
Discovery+ streaming issues
Roku Community Team, I got rid of Discovery+ about 1+ yrs ago because of streaming issues. For example: I would click on Expedition Unknown and it would take me to some paranormal show... So unable to fix it I canceled my subscription. So over a year has gone by and I thought I'd try it again and so far it's ok but not completely up to date on current shows I like. So I saw "Discovery+ on Roku" so I googled it and it seemed to be a different app than " Discovery +" and lead me to believe it had current shows so I subscribed and went to my Expedition unknown to watch current stuff and BAM it sent me to a paranormal show..... So I wasted $9.99 on a ap that isn't different and still has a streaming issue!! :/ And also for info I've restarted, reinstalled, deleted history, jump through hoops for Discovery+ and Discovery+ on Roku to stream right and I've never have to do this with any other of my Roku apps. Any possibility it getting fixed?
C-SPAN availability
I really miss turning to the C-SPAN channel. C-SPAN began as a way for American citizens to view their country in action on the floor of the Senate and House of Representatives. That is now a privilege for voters in areas who can easily get tv without paying for it the 'Old Fashioned' way.... "OVER THE AIR" broadcasts which I believe isn't offered on those frequencies. But, if you are living above so may feet above sea level and so many miles away from a transmission tower like millions of other people, watching C-SPAN (or anything else) literally is impossible without CABLE or INTERNET. There are those of us who care to understand/watch our government in action still want to, and Roku should be making a push to offer their platform. Roku is already licensed to stream free cable content and their paid channels. There is ZERO reason for this glacial progression of C-SPAN to Smart TV streaming companies. Roku just needs the license and C-SPAN needs to provide the live streaming app. I'm sure that's going to happen in a few months and not a few years.... right?
