⚠️Buyer Beware: Roku Cameras No Longer Record Motion Events Without a Subscription
Just a heads up for anyone confused about why your Roku smart camera stopped showing motion events or snapshots — it’s not a bug. As of July 16, 2025, Roku quietly removed the ability to see motion-triggered images or recordings unless you pay for a subscription. I confirmed this with Roku support. They said the feature was removed because “still images were underutilized” and that now you need a Roku Smart Home Subscription to see events. There was no warning, no email, no notification — it just stopped working. You’ll still get motion alerts, but now they don’t include any image or video unless you’re paying monthly. That kind of defeats the purpose of a security camera. What changed: Motion events no longer save images or recordings Notifications still come through, but there’s nothing to see Roku support says this is intentional and permanent I used to rely on those snapshots to check what triggered alerts — now it just says “motion detected” with no info unless I’m watching live. I’ve already filed a complaint with the BBB, and I encourage others to do the same. If you live in California, Washington, or NY, you may also want to contact your state a general’s office — they tend to take consumer protection issues more seriously.83Views4likes3CommentsGetting home monitoring to work
OK, got my camera outside Roku camera to work on my phone my tablet and my laptop. Only problem is I paid for the subscription already but I can’t get home monitoring to work. It keeps asking for a homebase hub which I don’t have. Is it possible to get home monitoring without the hub Cause if not, then there’s no sense in the subscription because everything works the same without the subscription minus home monitoring.26Views1like1CommentCan Roku Cameras be accessed by other people?
So two of my adult children live with my 82 year old mom. We have a camera in her living room, one in her bedroom (in case of falls) and my daughter has one in her room to check on her cat when she is at work. Could other people ( visitors, other family members, etc) be able to access the cameras with their own account and us not know it?69Views0likes1Comment360 camera keeps saying device is offline
When I got my 360 camera it was working great and after a few weeks it just keeps going offline. I have did a factory reset multiple times, I tried putting it as close to my WiFi modem as possible, I’ve unplugged my modem and plugged it back in, and I’ve tried unplugging it for 10 seconds then plugging it back it and it only goes back online for maybe an hour then immediately go back offline. I also have a outdoor door bell but I never have any issues with that only the 360 cam could someone please provide a fix.757Views1like3CommentsRoku Sensors not available
Roku Home monitor entry sensor availability I purchased the system a month ago and have to get more entry sensors to make the system effective. They are sold out everywhere I have looked. Have they been discontinued?? I hope I did not waste my money on a product that is not usable?Solved3.3KViews0likes18CommentsHome security system setup
I got the smart home security system, the app won't connect to the monitoring hub. It won't even try. It shows a loading symbol for about half a second, then nothing. I've restarted the device, plugged directly into the modem, cleared the cache on the app, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, reset my wifi. Etc. it still does the same thing every single time. If anyone has a solution I would love to know, I'm about ready to just return it.Solved1.5KViews0likes6CommentsSmart Home App – Unable to Receive Monitoring Certificate
Hello. I am trying to get the Smart Home App to send me a "Monitoring Certificate" for my insurance company. I can get to the point of requesting the certificate and having the system tell me that it will email me the certificate, and then I even receive an email that has a "download link" to get the certificate, BUT, when I press on the download link button, all I get is "That link has expired"..... ??? !!! How could a link that is supposed to be valid for 48 hours (as stated in the email), expire within seconds of being requested? I hope this is just a glitch, but there has to be another way for us to get this required and essential piece of information. Please advise and assist if able. Thank you.
